Assignment 1

I find that the Adobe website is executed quite well. The theme of Adobe, creativity, is clearly expressed throughout the entire site. To such an extent, the title of Adobe’s software package is “Creative Cloud.” The background photo of hot air balloons encourages the viewer to allow for one’s mind to run free on their very own design journey. The site is entirely responsive and allows for a hamburger menu to appear when the site is in mobile mode. The color palette consisting of white, black, blue, and red, provides the viewer with a sense of confidence in regards to their design process. The use of a San Serif font immediately creates a trendy and new feel to the text, rather than an old, proper font from the Serif family. The double nav bar is easily accessible and compliments one another.

Sedona Day Care & Learning Center’s website is nothing short of atrocious. The site is not responsive. Thus, when I try to shrink down the web page, half of the page is chopped off. The line length of the text is far too long, and the font choice does not properly correspond. To such an extent, at bizarre moments, a script font is randomly incorporated! The curved font above the midwestern figures lessens the readability of the page. Although I do find that the shades of brown do properly apply to the midwestern theme of the day care, there is far too much empty space contrasting it on each of the pages. On the “Summer Program” page, there is absolutely nothing placed on it! In fact, the words Summer Program are not even coded into the body of the page. On the “Classes” page, under Extra Activities & Summer program, there are no descriptions. A successful website must simply provide the viewer with information: one should not have to hunt for answers!
